Introduction

This graduation thesis results from a series of chance encounters in 4 months by metalworking practice. I integrated object art production and installation to create a metal work installation to discover the value of artistic process in the modern century.

Concept

When the public gets to an art gallery, usually they see is the product itself. There is none or little attention to the labour for the work behind the exhibition. Hence, this inspired me to discover the artistic labour through a series of metalwork and documented in a video.

10 bowls are made from raw material- Aluminium. From a sheet to a 3D bowl by a series of work of forcing, annealing, filing to polishing. Documentation of the process presented together with the work to show the labour force and time which is equally important as the product.
